Throw the Dice, Sleep with the Wolves, Have a Glorious Today

Throw the dice, take a leap of faith. Is it luck? Is it faith? Is it risk? Is it just a stupid idea? You’ll never know until you try. Sometimes you just have to make those mental calculations, assess the sums and totals and say “fuck it – I’m going to do it anyway.”

I’ve hitchhiked across most of the United States, stood at the top of Mount Nebo, slept in the middle of a pack of northern wolves, lived in a commune in Oakland CA, ridden in an F-16, jumped a horse over a 5 foot fence, drunk the waters at Delphi – and the list of adventures could go on and on.

What’s the point? Exactly. What’s the point of this life if we just sit in our ‘safe zone’, go to the cubicle, get our check, eat dinner and repeat?

Yes, there have been some awful, downright horrible moments, months and years; but there have been times that are higher than high.

Now I’ve thrown the dice again. At the moment I’m happier than I’ve ever been. Tomorrow? Tomorrow may never come, and while I do plan for it, I know I will have had this glorious day.

Think about it – but not too hard. Sometimes you just have to throw the dice – sometimes you win.
